1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored securely, never in plain text).

1.2 Business Information. To provide the Service, we collect information about the business(es) you register, including business name, website URL, service area, business type, and the services you ask us to track.

1.3 Payment Information. Payment is processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not directly store your full credit card number. We retain limited billing metadata (such as subscription status, plan tier, and trial/renewal dates) necessary to operate your account.

1.4 Content Generated Through the Service. When you use the Service, we generate and store scan results, visibility data, competitor information, audit findings, and draft content (such as FAQ blocks) associated with your business.

1.5 Website and AI Platform Data. To generate reports, the Service retrieves publicly available information, including your website's content and structure, and publicly observable responses from third-party AI platforms and search engines related to your business and its competitors. This may incidentally include publicly available information about other businesses (your competitors) that are not GEOsolver customers.

1.6 Usage Data. We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Service, such as IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, generally through standard web analytics and application logs.

1.7 Cookies. We use cookies and similar technologies necessary for authentication and basic functionality of the Service.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including running scans and generating reports;
• Process payments and manage your subscription;
• Communicate with you about your account, including service notices and, where you have not opted out, product updates;
• Monitor and improve the Service's performance and reliability;
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service;
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

3.1 Service Providers. We share information with third-party providers who help us operate the Service, including:

• Supabase (database and authentication hosting)
• Stripe (payment processing)
• AI model providers (such as OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic) — used to generate scan queries, analyze results, and produce draft content. These providers process the business information and prompts necessary to perform these functions on our behalf.
• Search and SERP data providers — used to retrieve AI Overview, AI Mode, and related search visibility data.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers used to run our application.

These providers are contractually obligated to use the data we share only to provide services to us, and not for their own independent purposes, except as required to operate their underlying platforms (such as standard API usage terms of AI model providers).

3.2 Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, or protect the safety of our users or the public.

3.3 Business Transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and business information for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, we may retain data for a reasonable period afterward in case you reactivate, and as needed for legal, accounting, or legitimate business purposes, after which it will be deleted or anonymized.

5. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level data isolation between customer accounts — designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

We are based in Canada, and our service providers may process data in Canada, the United States, or other countries. Where required, we take steps intended to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for cross-border data transfers.

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
